Dr. Jeffery Degner is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There, he serves as the Dean of the School of Business & Innovation. His career began with 5 successful years in the retail management field, and later completed his undergraduate degree in Economics and History for secondary education at Western Michigan University. From there, he served in high schools in California and Michigan for a combined 13 years. During that time, he earned a Masters in Applied Economics from Western Michigan and began his role as an assistant professor of Economics at Cornerstone University. While at Cornerstone, he earned his doctorate in Economic Science in 2023 from the Universite d'Angers in western France. His dissertation entitled, The Family in the Inflation Culture was adapted for the 2025 release of his first book, Inflation and the Family. He holds both the Kenneth Garschina Award from the Mises Institute, and the Heart of the Scholar Award at Cornerstone - the highest peer-bestowed honor among their faculty. He has delivered presentations at the Mises Institute, the Acton Institute, Makenzie University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, The Sorbonne in Paris, France, and at multiple stateside and international conferences. He is published in the Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics and is a contributor to the Mises Wire, the Center for Biblical Unity, and has appeared on multiple podcasts including the Tom Woods Show, The Human Action Podcast, Radio Rothbard, and All the Things.
